Wife and I were out back drinking coffee, holding hands watching the sun peek out from the clouds. very peaceful.
all of the sudden we heard a tremendous flapping of wings. 6-7 dove flew at high speed right above us and whirled in a circle before there was a brown flash and an explosion of feathers.
A hawk landed 20 feet away beside our driveway with a dead dove.
It started picking at the feathers and ate the whole bird, we never moved except to sip coffee.
after about 15 minutes the hawk preened itself and flew off
this was what was left.
