Is emphasizing my entrepreneurial abilities bad during interviews?

lundi 2 février 2015

I got into selling on eBay a few years ago and ended up becoming an eBay Powerseller. I always put my eBay stuff on my resume and thought it shows my entrepreneurial abilities. I recently did 2 on site interviews with different companies and got no for both of them so I'm trying to evaluate what went wrong. During the interviews, almost everyone asked about my eBay experiences and I answered them truthfully. One interviewers straight up asked if I rather be my own boss than working there and my answer was that "I would consider it if the right opportunity comes up but I don't think I possess the knowledge currently to run a successful business." One of the other question was that if I would still continue my eBay activities if they offer me the job and I said something like "I would do it as a hobby and it is always good to have multiple sources of income" (stupid answer!)

So guys, do you view entrepreneurial people as risky since they have higher chance of leaving or do you think those guys make better candidates? How should I approach my eBay experiences in future interviews?
