Hi was wondering if anyone can help me out in how you build a multiple decrement table for 2 decrements - Ill and Dead
Active(A) -------> Illness (I)
|
-------> Dead (D)
To build the table I know you need to find the dependent probabilities (aq)x for both D and I, and this is fairly simple if we have (aq)x for the illness.
But how can we do this if we have m-type rates for illness. Specifically if we have:
> (am)x - that is the dependent central rates observed - for Illness; and
> qx - the independent initial rate of mortality - for Dead in the single decrement mortality table?
Thanks in advance,
M
