Phone Skills

I am a recent grad looking for a job in the actuarial field. So far I've gotten a number of callbacks but have had problems with the phone interviews. In every case I get way too nervous and my "um" to word ratio becomes 10:1 (even in cases where I write down any pertinent information needed for the interview). What I can do to improve? Any advice would be appreciated.
