Im having trouble understanding the solution for a problem on the actex 1st practice exam.
There question is : If X has a normal distribution with mean 1 and variance 4, Then P(X^2-2X<=8).
For there solution they add 1 to both sides. then factor. What is there reasoning for adding 1 to both sides?? I
