What was Britain's role in the Pacific against Japan in WW2?

After Germany surrendered but before the atomic bombs were dropped...

There had to have been some sort of sentiment like

"The US added tremendously to the power of the allies in hitting Nazi Germany. Without the US role combined with other allies, the Nazis may have won

So now role the clock to June 1945 and you still have a Japan willing to fight the US to the last man standing. Both nazi Germany and imperial Japan declared war on both British Empire and US...but the more threatened enemy by Germany was Britain, and the more threatened enemy by Japan was USA

The atomic bomb would be too secret and not known outside Manhattan project

What was Britain's big reciprocity...for US saving them from Nazi bombardment?

What was Britain's role in the Pacific against Japan in WW2?
