Gas prices

Yeah, they sure are down, right? (Although, as I would expect, I haven't heard any talk of conspiracy theories about the lowering of prices—that's saved for when they go up).

But no. I'm talking about why, when I go to the gas station, the price is $3.279, or $2.129, or whatever.

Come on, what's with the 0.9 cents thing? Yeah, I know that customers only look at the first two digits after the decimal point, and I suppose gas stations want to look good relative to the competition. And thus, $2.479 instead of $2.48.

And, of course the difference is huge. Why, if you buy ten gallons of gas, you're saving a whole penny with the former vs. the latter. And a penny saved is a penny earned.

Am I missing something?

Sheesh. There oughta be a law.
