If you are telling a "fiction" story that occurs in the year 2095, is this usage acceptable?
Once upon a time, in the year 2095, there were evil drunk aliens invading Los Angeles.
Or does it have to be written like this
Once upon a time, in the year 2095, there will be evil drunk aliens invading Los Angeles.
Or
Five years ago (the year is 2100), evil drunk aliens invaded Los Angeles.
*this one's confusing
Once upon a time (about 80 years from now), evil drunk aliens invaded Los Angeles.
Which of these forms are acceptable. When telling a fiction story that occurs in the future, it's not desireable to have to put 2015=Now. But you have to set Now <> true Now in an easy way readers understand
This was a problem I had with a short story I wrote back in grade school. I spent hours trying to explain Now <> true Now and teacher couldn't follow this logic, so I changed the short story to a non-future fiction. But now out of curiosity, which of the above forms are acceptable?
