Hello, I am completely new to AO and I will preface this by stating that I am still in undergrad and have only just recently passed my first exam and secured my first internship (it's a P&C which is relevant to the question).
I want to get everyone's opinion on which segment of the insurance industry has the best prospects for the coming decades. For example if you could only choose one industry/group for your entire career what would it be?
My impression is that pensions are dying, health concerns me with increased government intrusion, P&C looks pretty good but driverless cars could certainly hurt them going forward, so for me that leaves me with life.
I would also think that life insurance companies do the most as far investments are concerned since they have the longest time to hold the money from premiums.
I guess consulting would be the other side of this but it sounds like they work the longest hours so I'm not sure how many people would choose them if they were going to choose only one for their entire career.
Thanks for any input
