M.Sc. in Actuarial Science (no thanks)

vendredi 16 janvier 2015

So I recently contacted an old acquaintance who is a prof. in a statistics/Act.Sci. department. I told him about my situation, and that I'm looking for an EL job in P&C. He seems to think that I should apply for their M.Sc. program in Act.Sci.

F*ck that, I'm thinking. I already have Ph.D. and don't want to spend another 1-2 years in school over-educating myself even more. I just want a job, not more bloody school. Of course, I realize that I'll be passing exams for the next number of years, but I want to be employed while I do that.

What do you guys think? From what I've been reading on these forums, a Master's degree in actuarial science is not going to be very beneficial.
