Hello,
Portland is tax-free, pretty warm, and an actuary would probably feel like a king living there. There are quite a few actuaries living in the area and I'm considering trying the place out to see if it'd be a good fit for me.
Vancouver is an amazing place to live but the opportunities are limited and it's much more expensive than Portland or most other cities in the states and I wonder if it's worth the extra cost? I understand that whether or not the extra cost is "worth it" depends entirely on the individual so I guess I'm just asking for opinions with a little bit about why some things are worth it to you ( your friend or whatever).
I would like to welcome input from people who have some first hand or close second hand experience on the matter of Portland specifically and also neighboring cities.
