Can someone pls show me the calc behind these 2 numbers in the paper?



1) pg 11: "Even so, the MSE of our estimate is approximately 2.081.."

How do we get 2.081?



2) pg 14, Non Linear example: "VHM=Var(Yd)=1/2.."

How do we get 1/2?
