In light of news that Sony has decided to release online streaming for The Interview on Christmas Eve with partners Microsoft, Google, and own site, (to ire of movie chains that want that exclusive window), I've wondered whether we'd reach a point where movies would debut in theater and on TV by streaming at same time. Do you think that will happen in near future or long term future? What do you think would happen with movie theaters if this happened? Go way of Blockbuster?
Poll: Would you pay full price to watch the movie streaming on your TV at debut? Note, this means 'renting' the movie once at movie ticket prices. I suppose ability to rewind, but I'd assume there'd be a limit like many rental platforms (itunes, Xbox) have now, maybe even shorter.

Would you pay same price to watch a movie debut at home at same time as theater?
