I'm thinking of getting a "family gift" this season of a new receiver and speakers for our TV. Our current set-up is a 5.1 system with wires to all of the speakers. Since getting wires run through the walls to get speakers into the back of the room, the current sound system has, for all practical purposes, been used as a glorified sound bar since all of the speakers are under the TV instead of being spread around.
So, I thought that maybe we could get something with two wireless rear speakers for the rear, even if the front speakers were wired, would fit the bill.
During a brief Google and Amazon search, I became frustrated because nothing really popped out, so here I am asking you fine folks.
What is a reasonable receiver/speaker set-up that would get me two wireless speakers for the back so that I don't have to worry about running wires? I've lived with the current set-up for the last 8 years, so sound isn't my highest priority. Given that, I guess my starting target price range is around $200 to $300. Any ideas?
