Alright guys, let me see if I can get some opinions on this.
I had a phone interview with an HR rep. The rep told me the salary of the position up front. The base salary is at least 16% less than what I make now in my current position. However, they may be willing to work with me by giving me another position, different salary, etc. He told me he would have to speak with the hiring manager.
I received an invitation from the rep to come and visit and interview with the actuarial department for half of a day. My question is, should I ask about the salary and position before I go for half a day? I would hate to waste half a day of my time and theirs for something I would refuse if they are set with this the base salary for the position. What do you guys think?
