ASM MFE Study Manual by Abraham Weishaus, 8th edition.
I used this book and TIA together to pass the exam on my first attempt in 2014. I used TIA to get a general overview of the concepts and the ASM manual to dive into the nitty-gritty. More than the other prelims, MFE is about drilling all of the myriad stock option variations that financial engineers can dream up. This book will prepare you well by throwing Black-Scholes problems with all the different combinations of bells and whistles. You'll get to know Black-Scholes inside and out.
There are 11 hard practice exams, so hard that at times I questioned if they were even a good use of my time. If you are coming anywhere near passing the practice tests, you should be fine on exam day.
This book retails for $150(!!) new. I'm selling mine in excellent condition (no writing, no markings, no highlighting) for $50 plus shipping. I am setting the the price lower than it should be because I just want to be rid of the thing.
