Hi there! I know this is for actuarial resumes and cover letters... but, right now relocating is not an option and the one place that hires actuaries around here is not hiring, so, I am trying to find a somewhat-relevant job. I am applying to a local bank as a residential mortgage underwriter. Since you have all helped so much with my past resumes, I was hoping you'd take a look :)
Also- my friend is really good friends with nephew of the CEO of the bank. He said he would talk to him for me/put a good word in, but the CEO is on vacation for this week, so I have to hold off on sending this in right away. Would I mention this "connection" on a cover letter if it goes well?
