Hi everyone,
I've lurked here for a while but decided to make an account in hopes to get my first entry level actuarial position.
Brief back story:
i graduated with a degree in mathematics in 2010. After 2 years working retail full time with no real job prospects, i decided to go back to school to study actuarial math since my degree didn't cover too much in statistics. i continued working part time in retail while back in school, and managed to pass P and FM. The real world came knocking last summer so i had to discontinue school to get a real job so i could help pay the bills.I got a full time job in the corporate office of the retailer i worked at while in school.
This past week, a full time position opened up in the Actuarial training program of an insurance company a friend works at. He says his supervisor helps in the hiring process. He offered to put in a good word for me, and i want to make sure i don't embarrass him by submitting a sub-par resume. any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
sorry about the poor grammar in this post. I'm trying to type this on my phone at work.
