The Opportunity
The actuarial analyst supports the analysis of casualty business utilizing accepted actuarial standards, methodologies, and knowledge gained through on the job training. They will work closely with the underwriters and brokers to pricing large accounts.
Key Responsibilities
• Conducts rate reviews for assigned accounts and products, analyzing profit and loss results, past and current trends, projecting underwriting losses and reviewing competitiveness of rates
• Effectively present results and recommendations on their analysis
• Supports the development and design of new programs/products and recommends process improvements
• Shows consistent progress toward attaining CAS designations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in an analytic field of study
• 0-2 years of experience
• Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams
• Can analyze data and review analysis from others and identify and resolve basic data issues
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in using a statistical analysis software and database queries
• Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
• High level organizational and project management skills in order to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner and to monitor processes throughout a team or department
• Strong decision making skills
• Works effectively in a team environment
