I came across a documentary called Ivy Dreams on youtube. It films the life of four Asian high school seniors revolving around the college application process. Three out of the four families pushed their kids to the extreme, hoping they would get into top-Ivies (Harvard, Princeton, Yale).
This documentary was filmed in 2005-2006. I looked up where these people are nearly ten years after the documentary was filmed. Interestingly, the only one that made it to an Ivy is now an actuarial professional.
