OK, AO. I need a sanity check. Here's the situation.
I changed firms a few months ago and received a significant career bump and leadership position with my new firm (yay me!). Needless to say, my prior firm did not like this and has been in propaganda/denial mode since my departure. Now, I have learned that a former colleague (who is a partner at my prior firm) sent the following unsolicited e-mail to an associate at our firm.
Partner does not know our associate. At all. They have never met and do not run in the same professional circles. In any event, our associate alerted us to the e-mail and laughed it off as an ill-fated overture to turn her to the dark side of the ERISA force.
So, AO -- what do you think? Is this some bizarre attempt by a jaded former lover, err my prior firm, to toy with me? And who the hell says "... for networking" at the end of an e-mail to a stranger like that. A little creepy, no?
Anyone have any clever/devilish thoughts to respond to the e-mail?
A poll is added for your amusement.
