not sure what concepts to use to solve these

I didn't study yet whatever topic I need to solve this and I'm not sure what section in the books to turn to.

I have the free Marcel Finan book and I have The Infinite Actuary subscription for P. What sections teach me how to do this? I'm not even really sure what the problem is asking
