I had a breakthrough when I realized that pretty much everyone has one of only two response to any sexual activity: Either "I (would) love to do that!" or "Eww! That's disgusting" In other words, any sexual act which is not personally appealing to us is one we'll find disgusting. This is why when children first learn about what sex is, they find it gross and insist they will never do it. Because sex is gross. They don't even like kissing, because rubbing your open mouth against another person's open mouth is very unsanitary. You'd never do it with someone you weren't sexually attracted to.
At first, I thought that it was simple enough to say that the reason sex feels so good is that it has to be pleasurable enough to overcome our natural aversion to the inherent ickiness of it. But that's not really true, because there are lots of actions I could use my genitals for which would stimulate them to cause me pleasure, but I'm still not turned on by them.
That's what the sexual mind is for. There's a portion of our brain which serves to temporarily turn off the natural and logical repulsion we would otherwise feel about these reproductive acts. This portion of our brain doesn't have to be very powerful, but it has to be strong enough so that just about everybody is turned on enough by something to want to do it.
Since it's a inexact sort of thing, lots of people's brains turn off a few extra repulsions, which explains why lots of people have weird fetishes. Feet are gross, but for people with a foot fetish their brains turn that off in addition to the rest of the gross sex stuff.
This theory also explains why women are so much less rational than men. For most people, it's just objectively more gross to put a part of your body into someone else's body than to let someone else put a part of their body into yours. It's more of a personal space intrusion. Also, sex sometimes leads women to get pregnant, which is like a thousand times worse than just someone putting part of them into her. Someone women even greatly look forward to getting pregnant. Therefore, the part of women's brains that turns things off has to be a lot stronger than men's.
In conclusion, love is your brain making itself more stupid so that you'll do stuff that otherwise makes no sense.
