keto diet help

I have the basics down for the diet, I just have a question about the carb up day. Can I do the carb up day the first week on the diet? I've already noticed that my workouts are starting to suffer, weights and rep counts are dropping and its a struggle just to finish. Muscles feel fatigued quickly. I'm eating 1.2-1.3 g protein per pound body weight, I feel depleted and that a carb up would help this. I'm worried that if I wait two weeks I will lose muscle mass due to the drop off in the gym. Whats the down side to doing a carb up now? Will it just take an extra week or two for my body to really start burning a lot of fat? Or is it required to actually be burning fat at a high rate? I used the ketone strips and depending on when I use them I have between trace and the next level up of ketones. Any help is greatly appreciated.
