Hi all, this is my first post here, but I assure you, this topic is at least half serious. It's about fate.
So I was going to apply to a development program at <company>, but got sidetracked. Later on, I checked my mail and got the message:
"Please be advised that on <date>, contractors from <company> will be conducting a fire alarm test..."
I know that you should try to play up having a similar location and career branch (life, p/c) when talking to a company, but would it do well to mention this coincidence/fate to <company> in my cover letter or interview? I figure it wouldn't hurt if I blew my chance at one place, but on the other hand it is kind of silly.
