Report Analyst:

Mid-Size Long Island-Based Home and Auto Insurance Company looking to hire a Report Analyst in their Actuarial department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work well balancing competing priorities in a results-oriented work environment. The Report Analyst will support strategies and processes that increase productivity and team efficiencies and help the company as a whole.

Responsibilities:

· Become proficient in company reporting systems/databases. Extract data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

· Compile company and industry loss and premium trends.

· Presents and details analyses to peers and management.

· Provides support and data analysis needed for departments such as Accounting, Claims, Marketing and Product Management.

· Manage various regulatory data calls.



Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics, Management Information Systems or Computer Sciences preferred.

· Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, experience with pivot tables, vlookups and other formulas, and with charting and graphing data.

· Advance knowledge of other Microsoft tools including Powerpoint and Access is a plus.

Actuarial Analyst

Mid-Size Long Island-Based Home and Auto Insurance Company looking to hire an Actuarial Analyst in their Actuarial department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work well balancing competing priorities in a results-oriented work environment. The Actuarial Analyst will use statistical models to analyze data and calculate the probability of and costs associated with certain events, such as product failure, accidents, and property damage.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

· Performs pricing, reserving, or research reviews for assigned products.

· Participates in the company’s efforts to improve the segmentation and robustness of the products and methods utilized through standard actuarial techniques.

· Monitors company and industry loss and premium trends.

· Uses basic actuarial techniques and software packages to improve the accuracy of the rate level or reserve selections.

· Presents and details analyses to peers and management.

· Provides support and data analysis needed for departments such as Accounting, Claims, Marketing and Product Management.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics, Management Information Systems or Computer Sciences preferred.

· Three to five years of experience in insurance or statistical reporting.

· Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, experience with pivot tables, vlookups and other formulas, and with charting and graphing data.

· Advance knowledge of other Microsoft tools including Powerpoint and Access is a plus.

· Actuarial exams are preferred but not required.
