I'm not sure what to think of my ADAPT level

dimanche 15 mars 2015

I'm 9.54 on ADAPT. That's good, yes? Yet I don't feel confident at all. Why? Because I've scratched and clawed my way up there. Went up 0.05 here, 0.15 there, 0.3, etc. all over an extended period of time.

I've only ever scored above 90% on a practice exam a very few times. The rest it's always in the 80s. I thought reaching a high difficulty level would mean I can pretty much solve anything but there are still problems I've seen numerous times that I'll get stuck on. I always have an "idea" but I just can't solve it. I review the solution later, go, "Oh, yes. I see" and then, next time--same thing. Very frustrating.

I guess what I'm really asking is how useful is my ADAPT level given that I'm not actually consistent in scoring, say, in the 90s?

Also, I don't have any other practice sources and I guess there's no way to get the ASM exams without actually buying the whole manual. Is it okay if I only do ADAPT? Are there any other recommended free practice sources?

Sitting April 16th.
