I recently graduated from college and landed a job as an ERM actuary with 2 exams. As I get to know more about market risk, I feel more attracted to the quant/investment field. Since I am in the early stages of my career I would like to have the opinion of experienced actuaries/quants about this topic.
1) Does the Investment Track of the SOA only applies to life insurance companies? Or can it also be used in the P&C side? What about other financial institutions such as Investment Banks, Hedge Funds, and so on - where pure quants are usually hired?
2) How likely is it for an FSA to land a job as a quant?
