It's confusing to me
f(x) = 4xe^-2x
It's explained that theta is the same as if you isolate the exponential part, ie 2e^-2x would be mean 1/2, so theta is 1/2
Then the confusing part: "alpha is 2 because the degree of the polynomial term multiplying this is 2-1"
So because 4x is x^1, alpha is that degree of 1, + another 1? If it were 4x^4 * e^-2x, it would be gamma (5, 1/2)?
So the 4 coefficient doesn't even matter? Ie, f(x) = 1315316316xe^-2x has the same MGF as f(x) = 4xe^-2x?
