I got a question. My daughter left her full time job to do full time clinical rotations for her physical therapist assistant program. One of the places requires her to have health insurance. She thought she would get either individual coverage or get COBRA coverage.
An agent she talked with told her that when she gets the form from her old insurer that states that her coverage has terminated that she could bring that in and he could sign her up with an individual policy. I suggested she might be able to just use her COBRA since she is only expecting to need the coverage until about May or June when she will have graduated and gotten a new full time job that would provide her with coverage.
Problem is she has gotten zip from her old company/carrier as far as the termination information or COBRA information. She is having a heck of a time getting a hold of the HR person at her old company and that person does not seem to be of much help.
What would you suggest as a course of action? She has contacted AETNA who was listed on her insurance but they are saying they are not the administrator and she should contact the administrator. :swear:
