My old thread is more than 6 years old! Lotsa changes since then.
Semi-short version: 5'6", 36 years old. Got down to about 132 lbs for my wedding in Sep 2012, after already getting down to a solid size 6 for the first time ever thanks to running 4 miles 3-4 times per week starting in 2010. Stayed at 132/size 6 until I started infertility treatments in the summer of 2013. Bloated up to a size 8/10. Was 137 when I got pregnant, 167 when I delivered last August. Now I'm back down to 137, but I still have this belly that's way bigger than it used to be. I'm still wearing size 10 pants; I can close the size 8s but they don't look good (hello, muffin top).
Tools at my disposal:
*treadmill (I haven't really gotten back into running, but I walk a LOT)
*adjustable dumbbells (5 to 50 lbs; increments of 2.5 lbs up to 25lbs, then increments of 5lbs).
*resistance bands
My goals are to reduce the belly (purely vanity), increase core strength and upper body strength (kind of imperative, as Baby Bel gets heavier every day), and not break a hip when I'm 80.
What should I be doing with the (brand-new) weights and resistance bands? Assume I don't know how to do anything, so use small words and links to descriptions with pictures. :)
