I'm two years out of college and I just finished my prelims. I'll be sitting for Exam 5 in the spring. I have one year of consulting experience and one year of P&C experience. The thing is I moved to a location in which I hate (I want to have a winter again) and I very much want to move back home. Home is in the po'. There are only about three small P&C shops. My plan is to cold email actuaries at the small P&C shops in my hometown and simply tell them that I want to move back home and would like to be considered for any opportunities that they have.
Is this the way you would go about it? Should I just suck it up and get my ACAS? I don't think I have enough experience to go the recruiter route and would like to do this independently.
Very rarely do these shops post jobs on sites like Indeed or LinkedIn.
