Actuary - The Most Undervalued Job In America

Why is it that we get defensive when people give up on an actuarial career and say we have it bad? We do have it hard. Those exams are tough. Actuaries do important work, too. We have it pretty good between study hours and pay, but companies aren't giving us these benefits out of the goodness of their hearts. We earn it, right? Who's to say that we're not getting swindled a bit? Is it possible that actuaries are actually undervalued?



When we say that actuaries have the best job, aren't we kind of telling our employers that we deserve a smaller paycheck?
