My wife was having some weird pains so she went to her PCP. The PCP wanted to rule out any heart issues so she listened to her heart, weighed her, took her blood pressure, did and EKG and sent her (same day) to a cardiologist ($219 for this, we're on HDHP). The cardiologist weighed her, took her blood pressure, and listened to her heart with a stethoscope. Some exact things the PCP did a few hours early. He wanted to do an EKG but she told him no she just had one. So he charges her $220 and schedules two tests for next week (stress test and eco-cardio something or other). God knows what that will cost.
I guess I can see the extra tests but the $220 visit seems like an utter waste of time and money.
And this is all just to rule out heart issues since the PCP suspects it's a pinched nerve.
Looking for perspective here, thanks.
