I passed Exam P in September using the Actex manual, and I am studying for FM in December using the ASM manual. Assuming I pass FM this December, I would like to sit for MFE in March.
It seems to be the general consensus that MFE is much harder than P & FM due to the level of understanding for the material one must have. I am just wondering what this exactly means. If I read the ASM manual for MFE starting in the end of December (after FM and finals) and understand the concepts using the same regimen as the earlier exams, will that be enough?
I basically just don't understand what it means when people say you must deeply understand the material to pass for this exam. I feel the same is true for P & FM. It would be extremely difficult to just memorize algorithms to solve a finite amount of problems.
