TIA Exam 1, Q15 Solution - Am I missing something here?

Here is the solution.



I understand that P[max > 2] = 1-P[max <= 2]



But why are the probabilities 1/4 for x <= 2 and y<=2?



Shouldn't it be 2/5, because it can be 1 or 2, from 1 to 5?



EDIT - Nevermind I got it, because it is for the interval length, and we're looking at the area between 1 and 2 which would be 1/4 in this case.
