POSITION SUMMARY
Manage/coach Texas health plan actuarial staff in support of department mission to protect Aetna's financial integrity. Lead/manage projects in support of strategic and operating plan goals. Negotiate and influence sound business decisions by adhering to established risk management principles. Anticipate and recognize matters that materially affect financial results and make sound, unbiased reports on these matters. Lead interdepartmental teams to shape policy and process.
Location preference is Hartford, CT. Also open to Houston or Dallas, TX if experienced with managing remotely.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
5+ years related experience.
Knowledgeable of applicable federal/state laws/regulations, professional standards, analytic methods, and current managed care practices.
Strong team building skills and ability manage/develop a group of professionals with diverse skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management skills
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) is desired
Actuarial/Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) is desired
