NY Knicks 2014-15 season

would hate to inflate the post count of that other thread...

The Knicks have now lost 9 straight games which have been decided by 5 points or less. While the media seems to be focusing on the mistakes they've made at the very end of games (which have been plentiful), any masochist who has suffered through watching most of these games would tell a bit of different story. They have faced huge deficits in many of their recent games, made a rally in the 4th, and have run out of gas in the last couple minutes.

- Port - down by 11 w/7:30 left, up by 2 w/3:30 left, lost by 4

- Char - down by 18 w/10:00 left, up by 1 w/0:30 left, lost by 1

- Brkn - down by 13 w/9:30 left, cut it to 3, lost by 5

- Mia - down by 13 w/18:00 left, down by 8 w/4:00 left, cut it to 2 w/1:30 left, lost by 7

While any team that's had Iman Shumpert as it's second best starter for most of the season (Dalembert/Acy/Larkin as the other most frequent starters) cannot be considered anything but a bad team, if the Knicks had been able to win a few of their close games, they'd be close enough to the 8th seed in the JV conference to be able to convince their fans that they can still be a playoff team.

I guess the only question right now is whether their win total this season will have any affect on Phil's ability to sign free agents next summer, or will the cap space, along with the fact that most of the current roster will be gone after next season, be enough to get things headed back in the right direction?
