In another thread, I learned that ALFA 10.0 already has the ability to calculate NPR (PBR) for term and that got me to thinking about the different options for valuation software. I'm interested in hearing about (particularly from people who have experience with more than one system) what others perceive as the strengths and weaknesses of each system. This discussion is from the point of view of valuation/reserving not modeling although I realize that the lines between the two could be blurring in the not so distant future.
My company uses ArcVal which at the moment does not have the capability to perform any PBR/NPR calcs. Feel free to throw other major softwares into the mix, but the ones that come readily to mind for me are ArcVal, Polysystems, AXIS, and ALFA. I've only heard of Prophet being used for modeling, not valuation but I could be mistaken.
