Has anyone ever had the experience of finding a job change challenging due to your existing compensation being at the high end of the Salary Survey range?



Say you're well above the 90th percentile in the DWS Salary survey (10%+). I imagine it's hard to find employers that will be able to meet/beat existing salary. I'm considering a move, but I'm more inclined to think a prospective employer would say "we can't match your salary" than they would be to say "you must be good to command that salary"... I'm nervous about "golden handcuffs", as I'd be unwilling to drop salary just to move... I know I'd have to prove I'm worth it in an interview, but I'm nervous I won't even get that far.



It's kind of a vague question, but has anyone here had much experience changing jobs as an experienced actuary when their "previous" salary is above the 90th percentile range?



I'm thinking this type of search will probably require a recruiter.
