Muslim fundamentalist turned moderate calls for re-examination of Muslim scripture

dimanche 15 février 2015

From a tweet today by Maajid Nawaz (author of "Radical", @MaajidNawaz on Twitter, see also http://maajidnawaz.com/)

Quote:

Jihadist Jew hatred in Europe, and the need to re-examine Muslim religious scripture:

The image shown in the tweet refers to the infamous saying of Mohammed in one of the hadiths by the most respected source, Bukhari, that "the day of Judgement will not come until you (Muslims) fight the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say 'O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.' "

Maajid Nawaz is a very brave man. Kudos to him for being the first prominent Muslim (to my knowledge) to say openly that there is a problem with Islamic holy texts. He is also acknowledging here that Islam has a real problem with anti-semitism (in the anti-Jewish sense), because of some of those holy texts.
