Hey guys, so I'm doing a question about Uniform distribution on Actex and I don't get a part of the solution.
The question is asking me to find P(X+10/X > 7) in the interval of [0,10].
So I got to the point where you get P(X^2 -7X + 10 > 0) = P[(X-5)(X-2) > 0]. What I don't get is how P[(X-5)(X-2) > 0] = P(X>5) + P(X<2).
Would anybody mind explaining to me how that works?
Thanks!
