I am really keen to understand how being an actuary works, and also just want to know what I'm getting myself into (but I haven't gotten an internship yet.)
I heard that sometimes actuaries give you opportunities to shadow them at work, to see what's going on - but I'm really confused as to how I bring that up.
Also, if I'm in an area like Los Angeles, would any actuaries be receptive to a request like that? Just curious (and kinda afraid.)

How do I approach an actuary if I want to shadow him/her at work?
