I got a message from the little lady yesterday that she had just received a call from a "law firm" looking to collect on a payday loan debt that they say she owed from 2013. Needless to say there hasn't been a payday loan taken out. They wouldn't tell her how much she owed, but kept asking her how she was going to deal with this.
The scary part is that they knew her full name and SSN, but apparently got her middle name and maiden name wrong. She wouldn't give that info to them. To me this sounds like they were fishing for more info with which to perpetrate fraud against us. Any advice on what to do?
