I know you're supposed to address your cover letter to who will actually be reading it, but I'll be sending mine to the chief actuary, actuarial manager and HR, and from those people it may get passed on to others, so I don't really know who in the world will end up reading it anyways. Is it really bad to just say "dear hiring manager?"
