Another career changer here.. Have been working in academia and education for all my life, so not confident about selling myself in cv/cover letter..
I worked in university as a researcher and lecturer, later switched to teaching maths in a college.
Not sure whether I should talk about my research in CL?
Anyway, here is my first version of a cover letter, any advice is welcome

After working in education and academia for over 10 years, I have decided to change career and feel strongly there is more opportunity for professional growth in the actuarial field.
I sat my first actuarial exam in September 2014, since then I have become a student member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Currently I am studying for my next exam sitting in April while working full time as a Maths teacher in a Sixth Form college.
I have strong analytical skills and learn new software quickly. During my work as a teacher I taught a variety of computer courses: MS Office, Maple, programming in Pascal, Visual Basic, Fortran, C++ and HTML. Often I had to teach myself a new software/programming language in a short time before passing my newly acquired knowledge to students.
As an educator I also have an experience of presenting mathematical concepts to an audience with diverse aptitudes.
I am attaching my CV for your reference. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you.
