Game of Thrones Logic Problem

lundi 13 avril 2015

There are three Game of Thrones fans:

1) Alice, who only watches the first 5 seasons of the show, then switches to only books after that.

2) Bob, who only reads the first 5 books, then only watches the show after that.

3) Charlie, who only ever watches the show and never reads a book.

...and three Game of Thrones threads:

1) Book thread, no show spoilers

2) Show thread, no book spoilers

3) General thread, all spoilers allowed

...and two disruptive forum posters:

1) Doug, who only spoils the show during the first 5 seasons. Doug sometimes lies.

2) Emily, who only spoils the books after book 5. Emily sometimes lies.

...and George RR Martin:

1) GRRM, who can spoil anything

------------------------------

You are given the following information:

1) Alice knows Bob has read the first 5 books.

2) Bob only knows that Charlie can't read.

3) Charlie always lies.

4) Neither Alice, nor Bob, nor Charlie know what Doug and Emily know.

5) GRRM knows what Doug and Emily know, but not what Alice, Bob, and Charlie know.

6) Doug says that Jon Snow dies.

7) Charlie says that Alice can't ever know what GRRM knows about Emily.

8) Bob says he now knows what Doug knows.

9) GRRM did not know what Alice knows, but now he does.

10) Emily says that either Jon Snow dies or his mother is Cersei.

11) If Doug agrees with Emily, Alice will know everything that Bob knows.

12) GRRM says that Jon Snow knows who his mother is.

13) Doug knows that if Jon Snow knows who his mother is, then Emily can't know if Alice knows what Charlie will say about the death of Jon Snow.

So, who is Jon Snow's mother?
