So, I have this friend... and he's not prepared at all for this exam. Okay, it's me. You got me. To make my question a little easier to type out, here are the sections of the test.
A. Regulation of Insurance and United States Insurance Law
B. Government and Industry Insurance Programs
C. Financial Reporting and Taxation
D. Professional Responsibilities of the Actuary in Financial Reporting
E. Reinsurance Accounting Principles
I'm pretty good at Sections A and B because they're the most interesting to me. I'm going to master those hopefully. Because I'm running out of time, I figured I'd skip E completely, as it's only 5-10% of the test and I haven't studied it much at all so far. I have spent quite a bit of time on C but it's very large and I am not good/great at any of it.
More than likely, I'm not going to pass and this studying will just help me for the second time around. However, assuming there's a chance, what should I study to give me the best chance? In other words, which topics have the highest ratio of expected number of points earned by learning them to amount of work it will take to learn them.
I am thinking Odomirok Ch 14 on Schedule F as it seems to have a few main types of questions and they're not that complicated. I am interested in the IEE as I use it at work, and it seems to be on most tests, so I'll probably try to go for that topic. What else?
Section D seems to have a high percentage of points for the amount of reading. However, it seems like being good at Section C is somewhat of a prerequisite for Section D. Does that seem right?
The good news is I'm not going to run out of time on the test like the rest of you!
