I was just sitting here trying to do my work, when a lab TA with two cookies came between another TA and I. They chit chatted, and she started eating one of the cookies. She offered the other to her, though I think she was just being polite. The other TA said no. I was watching. She then noticed me watching and asked if I wanted a cookie. I did, but I suspected she was just being polite. However, my reflexes got the better of me, and I said yes. She gave me the cookie and left.
Although the cookie was nice, it did not make up for the guilt I felt for accepting. I asked the other TA if she agreed it was offered to just be polite. She said she did not know, and tried to get back to doing her own homework.
