Title pretty much explains it. I've never bought a TV before, so the research for them is all new to me. Going to be moving soon and the new place needs a new TV + stand. Won't be mounting it on the wall. I'm hoping the TV stand will be able to hold at least 2 consoles + TV, but be relatively skinny (under 1 1/2 feet deep). Don't really have a total $ amount I'm looking to keep it under right now. Don't plan on investing into surround sound or anything too fancy at the moment. Eventually plan on getting an Xbox 1, meaning built in Blu Ray player isn't that necessary. I'm roughly considering the 50 inch(ish) size of the TV assuming that impacts peoples responses, but that is without any detailed research right now.
My questions:
Are there any brands that you would/wouldn't recommend specifically or are they all mostly comparable?
What are some key things to consider beyond dimensions/price when looking at TVs? Mainly aiming this question at the different kinds of technologies out there right now with an eye to the future.
